Pennsylvania Congressional Candidate Mike Marsicano Accused of Faking Trump Endorsement

Longtime Democrat-turned Republican candidate Mike Marsicano has a well-documented history of controversy and scandal.

Mike Marsicano, the former Democrat mayor of Hazleton and twice failed congressional candidate who ran on Hillary Clinton’s ticket in 2016, is back in the news as he attempts to reinvent himself as a MAGA candidate in 2022.

President Trump recently endorsed a strong America First candidate Jim Bognet for Pennsylvania’s 8th congressional district. But that hasn’t stopped Marsicano from using President Trump’s name and likeness in recent mailers in an attempt to fool the voters of Northeast Pennsylvania.

Faking an invaluable Trump endorsement is known to be a cardinal sin in the conservative movement.

Former Trump advisor and campaign manager Corey Lewandowski warned 2022 candidates about faking endorsements earlier in the cycle saying, “Lots of candidates pretend to have the support of President Trump. Most are full of sh*t. Do not fake Trump's endorsement.”

The mailer above was sent out by Marsicano’s campaign depicting President Trump standing behind Mike Marsicano giving a thumbs up.

Mike Marsicano has a deeply troubling past riddled with domestic abuse allegations. It’s a stretch to believe anyone running as a Democrat on Hillary Clinton’s ticket in 2016 would then turn around and vote for President Donald Trump.

Conservative best-selling author and Trump appointee Nick Adams called out Marsicano on Twitter for his lies about the coveted endorsement.

The following ad was released by the Trump-endorsed candidate in the race, former Trump administration official Jim Bognet, calling out Mariscano’s liberal past and support for then-candidate Hillary Clinton.

Marsicano, a late entry to the race for PA-8, would not be the first fake MAGA candidate to be accused of misleading voters about a nonexistent endorsement from President Trump.

Georgia congressional candidate Rich McCormick was accused of touting a non-existent endorsement from President Trump on social media.

Ohio Senate candidate Jane Timken was accused in June of faking a Trump endorsement by including a photo of her and Trump together on Timken’s campaign endorsements page.
