Microsoft Word goes woke: adds feature to suggest PC changes
Microsoft’s iconic “Word” software now has a feature that encourages users to use “woke” politically correct language.
Microsoft wants its users to be more “woke” and inclusive.
“The Word feature, which is also on some of Microsoft’s web-based applications, will offer tips to users by highlighting phrases or words that might cause offence,” The Times reported.
“Among the things the feature looks for are age bias, cultural bias, gender specific language, sexual orientation bias and socioeconomic status,” The Times reported.
The software change is the latest evidence that Big Tech companies and corporate leaders are pushing a far-left activist agenda.
Conservatives piled on the woke corporation on Twitter when reports surfaced of the new change.
It’s unclear if the feature will last on Word given the negative reaction from users. Conservatives and free speech advocates alike worry this is just another step towards policing language.
