CNN Now Pushing To Shut Down Newsmax
During the age of new conservative media, mainstream news channels such as CNN are now pushing to have them booted from cable carriers due to allegations that these conservative stations are denying that Biden won the Presidential election. One conservative media channel that is taking much of this criticism is Newsmax.
CNN Senior Media Reporter Oliver Darcy tweeted on Sunday that cable carriers such as Verizon, AT&T, and Comcast should be answering questions as to why they include Newsmax in their cable packages.
“Just a reminder that neither @Verizon, @ATT, nor @comcast have answered any questions about why they beam channels like OAN & Newsmax into millions of homes. Do they have any second thoughts about distributing these channels given their election denialism content? They won't say,” tweeted Darcy.
During CNN’s Reliable Sources, media analyst Brian Stelter brought on a panel to discuss deplatforming Newmax and one of the most adamant supporters of this action was former Facebook Chief Security Officer Alex Stamos.
"We are going to have to figure out the OANN and Newsmax problem. These companies have freedom of speech, but I'm not sure we need Verizon, AT&T, Comcast, and such bringing them into tens of millions of homes,” said Stamos. “We have to turn down the capability of these conservative influencers to reach these huge audiences. There are people on YouTube that have larger daytime audiences than CNN."
CNN has spread countless lies and falsehoods throughout the Trump presidency but not once were they called upon to completely shut down.
