Ted Cruz Wears 'Come And Take It' Mask At Biden Inauguration
While in attendance at the inauguration of President Biden, Senator Ted Cruz wore a mask that had the phrase “Come and Take It” with the Gonzales Flag Logo stitched onto it.
Cruz wore this mask presumably in response to Biden’s promises to tighten up gun control restrictions such as universal background checks, and a ban on assault weapons and high capacity magazines.
Biden has also proposed taxes on the ownership of rifles such as AR-15’s. These taxes would result in gun owners paying hundreds of dollars in taxes for exercising their second amendment right.
The slogan originates from the town of Gonzales in 1835 when Mexican general Santa Anna told the town to lay down their arms and surrender their cannon but the citizens replied with “come and take it!”
