Senator Marsha Blackburn, “We Need Term Limits”

While on The Next Revolution with Steve Hilton Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) called for, “term limits for Bureaucrats.”

The interview with Fox News host Steve Hilton is embedded below:

“I have said for a long time — we need to have term limits for bureaucrats because they are the ones that dig in, and they won’t leave, and they never modernize.” -Senator Marsha Blackburn

While trust and approval in Congress remains at an all time low, term limits continue to evade the legislatures in Congress.

Only time will tell if the calls from Senator Blackburn and others will finally result in term limits being passed.

The last serious effort to pass term limits was done by Speaker Newt Gingrich in the Contract with America where Gingrich attempted to add The Citizen Legislature Act to the bill, an amendment that would have imposed 12-year term limits on Members of the US Congress (6 terms for House Members, 2 terms for Senators). The attempt failed with members from both parties voting against it and a final vote count of 227-204.
