Border Patrol catches two suspected Yemeni terrorists at southern border

Border officials announced recently that they have caught two Yemeni citizens on a terror watch list trying to illegally cross the U.S.-Mexico border.

“U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Centro Sector arrested two Yemeni men within the last 2 months that were identified on a terrorism watch list,” according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

“Agents apprehended [one] man approximately three miles west of the Calexico Port of Entry and transported him to the El Centro Processing Center for immigration and criminal history screening,” in January the agency said. The illegal immigration is “a 33-year-old illegal alien from Yemen” and “was on the FBI’s Terrorism Watch List as well as on the No-Fly list.”

USBP Chief Patrol Agent Gregory K. Bovino (@USBPChiefELC) confirmed the capture in a now-deleted tweet. It is unknown why the tweet was taken down, we have shared a screenshot captured from a cached image retweet.

“The second incident occurred on March 30, at approximately 11:30 p.m., when agents assigned to the El Centro Station arrested a man for illegally entering the United States,” CBP said.

“Agents apprehended the man approximately two miles west of the Calexico Port of Entry” and a background check “revealed that the man, a 26-year-old illegal alien from Yemen, was also on the FBI’s Terrorism Watch List and on the No-Fly list,” the law enforcement agency said.

The arrests raise another issue about the effects that President Joe Biden’s immigration policies are having on national security policy.

While much of the criticism has understandably focused on the general problems that come with thousands and thousands of new illegal immigrants entering this country or crowding children into unsafe conditions, there are other issues.

Democratic leaders and amnesty activists will always tout the laborers or people fleeing violence who, they say, just want a better life.

But any porousness in the border means that drug dealers, sex traffickers and now terrorists can come across the border just as easily. Yet, the White House remains silent on this important issue.

The apprehensions are an embarrassment for the Biden Administration, which has struggled to contain the crisis at the border.

VP Kamala Harris has been appointed to oversee the issue, but has recently been more preoccupied with redoing her taxpayer-funded mansion or talking about ‘vaccine equity’ in Chicago.

Should we finally complete the wall on our border? Should Biden finally go visit the border? Let us know below!
