Disney Moving 2,000 Jobs From Liberal California to Business Friendly Florida

In a letter to employees, Disney executive Josh D’Amaro explained that the decision to relocate the jobs is in part due to “Florida’s business-friendly climate.”

“Florida is known for its rich culture of hospitality and active lifestyle as well as a lower cost of living with no state income tax,” D’Amaro wrote.

While this decision was reportedly made before COVID-19, Disney did criticize the heavy-handed way California’s state government approached the pandemic, with strict shutdowns its executives called “arbitrary.”

Disney is not the first company (and certainly won’t be the last) to leave the highly taxed California for more business-friendly pastures.

Companies to already relocate or announce plans to relocate out of California include:

  • Hewlett Packard

  • Oracle

  • Palantir

  • Dole Foods

  • Nestle

  • Toyota

  • Tesla

Notable celebrities like Elon Musk, Joe Rogan, and Ben Shapiro have all left the state in recent years.

California’s population declined in 2020 for the first time in decades, making it clear that the 2,000 Disney employees moving to Florida will most likely come into contact with various other ex-Californians forced out due to the restrictive left-wing regulations and taxes.

Do you think people are leaving California because of failed Democrat leadership? Is Governor DeSantis doing a good job in Florida? Comment your thoughts below!
